The launching ceremony of the Golden Jubilee Celebration was held on July 15, 2007. Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed, Honourable Chief Advisor of the Caretaker Government graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Professor Rehman Sobhan was the Guest of Honour and made the keynote presentation. Dr. A.B. Mirza Md. Azizul Islam chaired the event. Dr. Quazi Shahabuddin, Director General, BIDS delivered the welcome address.
